Bristol non-residential venue in St Paul’s, BS2. Details on registration.

Join us for two full days of in person Co-Counselling activities - workshops, sessions, shared lunches, and whatever else meets your needs.

Saturday 28th January 10am (soft start) - 6pm, Sunday 29th Jan 10am -5pm

The Bristol January Weekender has run for many years, and thanks to a personal connection with the venue, has been one of the most affordable options going for two days of in person CoCounselling International (CCI) community. Our venue capacity is up to 30 participants.

This is the first year it is running since 2019, and we want to make it a special edition to welcome CCI co-counsellers who have been practicing online, and may also have trained online during recent years. We also know that multi-day residentials are a big commitment in time and money, especially for people who don't already know people who will be attending - this is a chance to get a taste of what in person residentials can be, and how they can be a force for generating community! If you are from outside of Bristol you may arrange your own accommodation for the weekend or we will support attendees to match offers of spare sofas/ floors/rooms with requests from out of town.

What to expect

Saturday will be planned to ease us all into shared community. We'll plan sessions and workshops to refresh and warm up skills and to address questions such as:

  • How do we transition between online and in-person co-counselling?
  • How do we trust new people we are working with?
  • What different formats are possible for in person workshops?
  • What is going on in the current moment in CoCI in the UK, and how does it relate to the past story of the community and our potential as we move into the future?
  • What does it mean to be inclusive?
  • How do we look after our own needs?
  • What do I want from CCI in my life?

But this is just the start, we hope to collectively empower everyone to make the workshops they most want happen in the space on Sunday!

Get involved

The event itself will be in a 'Do It Together' style - with shared food, and shared responsibility for looking after the space. We also welcome collaborators for holding and planning the space at any level: giving input in advance, joining planning meetings, and volunteering in particular roles during the weekend.

You might share offers or requests for the Settling in Saturday workshop programme. Or maybe you're local and can help with shared food. You might help administer accomodation offers and requests. Or you would like to help set up a team for dealing with conflict or support needs in the space. Let us know in the booking form!
