We offer a CoCo Network Forum in Edinburgh to gauge support and ideas about hosting the European CCI in Scotland as in 1991, 1999, and 2008.
If so, what do we want to offer to interested Co-Counsellors from around the World?
There are several organising traditions in CCI. On the one hand, there is the view that it is sufficient to organise a venue and publicity. The CCI meeting itself is left to the attendees to get themselves organised. Sometimes a group of interested people come together beforehand to cater for some aspects of the programme e.g. last year in Ireland.
On the other hand, CCIs in the Netherlands, USA, Germany and McCoCo are facilitated by teams of committed people who not only organise the publicity & the venue, but also design a developed grant policy so people from far away or poorer countries can attend, look after food and dietary requirements, set up and maintain a functional trust person/ghost-buster system, work with a general theme and prepare welcoming workshops, opening circles, etc. Obviously this approach requires more support and cooperation than purely organising a venue and publicity.
What style of organisation do we want to offer to interested Co-Counsellors from around the World?
Please feel free to attend with curiosity only, perhaps with some suggestions. There is no commitment expected.
